Wayne Jordan Nielsen

Our sweet loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend Wayne Jordan Nielsen passed away Sunday, April 25, 2004, in the Tooele Rocky Mountain Care Center from complications of Alzheimer's. He was born January 15, 1927, in Castlegate, Utah to James William Nielsen and Janette (Jennie) Davis. He was the youngest of eleven children.

He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the temple.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He married Carma LaRue Asay in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple, September 1948 and was later divorced. He married Dorothy Barnes and was later divorced. He married Margaret Childs Jenkins on November 1970. He was father to five daughters, Jennie (John) Steele of Tooele, Utah; Debbie Brown of Kaysville, Utah; Marie (Floyd) Dennis of Arkansas; Bonnie (George) Rice of Monticello, Utah; and JoAnn (King) Irvin; an adopted son, Randy (Colleen) Nielsen of Layton, Utah; and 16 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He retired from HAFB in 1983. He was a Hospice Volunteer for over 10 years in the Ogden area and received recognition in 1994 as "Utah Volunteer of the Year". He loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. We loved his Christ-like example. Many thanks to the wonderful loving staff of the Tooele Rocky Mountain Care Center.
