Welford "Sandy" G. Sanford, Sr.
Welford G. Sanford, Sr. better known as "Sandy" to all who knew and loved him, passed away on March 23, 2011 after a valiant battle. Sandy was born October 29, 1933, in Prattville, Alabama, the son of Tommy and Goldie Sanford.

Following his service to the Marine Corps, Sandy worked as a civil servant and engineer which allowed him to travel overseas and throughout the country. He eventually settled in Nevada where he worked for the Las Vega Water District before retiring in 2000.
Sandy's love of life made him a stranger to none and a friend to many. His love of family, music, games, and enjoying the latest gadget were just a few of the many hobbies that made him special to all who knew him.

He is also survived by two sisters, Elaine (Vern) Fox and Shirley Schofield, sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth Hickey, Dorann Murphy and Anthony Nolan all of St Johns, Newfoundland, Canada.
