Wilford Andrew Martin

Wilford Andrew Martin, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2005 of heart failure.

He was born June 27, 1925 in Ogden, the son of Wilford George Martin and Edith Elizabeth White.

On September 3, 1947 he married Betty Lou Barker in the Salt Lake Temple.

Wilford was a member of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was a faithful high priest and served in many positions. He found great satisfaction serving as executive secretary or ward clerk under many bishops and as the crossing guard for the special needs primary.

His sense of humor and acceptance of others brought joy in the lives of all he met.

Wilford is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons and one daughter, Dennis LeRoy (Melba) Martin and Garth Andrew (Kelley) Martin of Ogden and Jan Elizabeth (Stephen) Nelson of Logan. He is also survived by one sister, Annabel Baker of Farr West, 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Martin and three sisters, Melba Larsen, Alice Hill and Edith Baggs.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Primary Children's Hospital.
