OGDEN - Our son, brother, uncle, and friend, William James Critchlow IV passed away April 8, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah. Bill was born December 20, 1955 to William James Critchlow III and Peggy Marie Wood Critchlow in Washington DC (which may explain his love of political debate and letters to the editor.) He was reared in Ogden, attending Ogden City schools, including Ogden High.

Bill, a former marketing director in pharmaceutical sales, was known for his integrity in business. He was an avid golfer and past president of the Mount Ogden Golf Association. Bill was a talented wildlife photographer and a connoisseur of music with a particular passion for the Grateful Dead. Bill's empathy was evident through all his years as an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor. He had a great love for the Shoshoni people. Bill never had an unexpressed opinion, yet he was a phenomenal and loyal uncle, friend, brother, and son who was kind, compassionate, and grateful.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Bill & Raelene Brian Critchlow; his siblings: Cydney (Scott) VanDyke, Kjerstin (Hal) Shepherd, Tim Critchlow (Erin Chambers), Tam Critchlow, Michele (Mark) VanDyke, and Jeni (Brad) Wilson; his 24 nephews and nieces; 5 great-nephews and great-nieces; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

We are grateful for the compassion of Dr. Gary Whipple and the staff at the Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Center. We thank Bill's great friends who were caretakers of the goats until the end.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 1:00 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Viewings will be held Monday 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary, and preceding the funeral from 11:40-12:40.
