WILLIAM MICHAEL KOVACS, SR.
1952-2014
After a long struggle with leukemia, William Michael Kovacs passed peacefully away on the morning of August 7, 2014.
Bill was born in Inglewood, California, on May 26th, 1952. He grew up in the Los Angeles area until moving to Utah to attend BYU, where he graduated with a Master's Degree in military history and political science and married Peggy L. Campbell in the Salt Lake Temple on August 16, 1974.
Bill was an avid reader who greatly enjoyed history, science fiction, political discussion, and all things military. He was also a fabulous cook who created many favorite family recipes. His intellect, original thinking, and offbeat sense of humor will be missed by his friends and family.
Bill is survived by his wife, four children (Rachel, Elizabeth, Michael, and David), a daughter-in-law (Gwynneth), three grandchildren (Ellie, Will, and Terra), his mother (Merlene Olsen Moss), stepfather (Donald Moss), and two brothers (Jim Johnson and Garrison Kovacs).
The family wishes to express thanks to the nurses and staff of the LDS hospital leukemia ward for their kind and excellent care, the members of Farmington 19th Ward, and the friends and family who have given us their love and support. We also extend a special thanks to sister-in-law Sheri, the angel who watched over Bill through his last night.
A Memorial will be held at 4:00 on Wednesday, August 13, at the Farmington South Stake Center, 695 South 200 East. Interment will take place Thursday, August 17, in Archer, Idaho.
