Willie E Valdez Obituary (1939 - 2007)

Willie E. Valdez FARR WEST - Willie Valdez, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away June 24, 2007 at the age of 68. He was surrounded by his devoted wife, Judy Valdez, and other members of his family as he passed on peacefully in the comfort of his home. Willie was a special man to all who knew him. He enjoyed being near friends and loved ones and always made all feel welcomed. He enjoyed camping, trips to Wendover and New Mexico, gardening, cooking and having family gatherings. He was a proud member of the Catholic Church and led his family in faith and guidance. Willie was also a proud worker. He received numerous outstanding service awards while employed at DDO and was honored for being the Hispanic Program Manager. Willie was always so generous with all he had and in all he did. He will be eternally loved and missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Judy; children Cindy (Charles) Archuleta, Tamara (Robert) Matue, Lori (Nick) Cota, Tod Valdez and Troy Lee (Torri) Valdez; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also his siblings Ernestine Martinez, Gilbert (Nancy) Valdez and Jenny (Joe) Ciulla. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Sr. and Sophia Valdez; siblings Julia Valdez and Antonia Martinez. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 24th St. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 27th at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 to 8 p.m., Rosary service at 7 p.m. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Sabotka and Sheila from Hospice, for the care they provided.
