Wyatt Lee Painter Obituary (1924 - 2009)

WYATT LEE PAINTER PLAIN CITY - Lee Painter passed away peacefully, Sunday Afternoon, in the home in which he was born. He was attended by his wonderful wife Cleo. He was born May 25, 1924 in Plain City to William Wyatt and Elizabeth (Bessie) Holdern Painter. Lee married Cleo Holmes October 25, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized August 9, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended Weber County Schools paying for his own education working at Brown's Ice Cream. He served his country during World War II working for the US Navy in the Pearl Harbor shipyard and with the US Army. He retired after 35 years of service from Defense Depot Ogden. During this time and for the rest of his life, he worked the family farm and helped his brother Bob race horses. Lee is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years; two sons Greg (Karen) Painter, of Layton, Utah, Steve (DeAnn) Painter, of Los Alamos, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Jeremy Painter, Amber Richardson, Clayton Painter, Kelsi Painter and Mark Painter; two step-grandchildren Tamara Faas and Kim Ratushniak and seven great- grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Arlene Boyle of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elaine Bonham, Helen Bonham and his brother and best friend Bob Painter. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., at the Plain City 1st Ward, 2225 North 4300 West, Plain City, Utah. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404, and on Thursday from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
