Zella Nickerson Crawford

OGDENa"Zella Nickerson Crawford, age 87, passed away on March 2, 2001. The reason she died and the cause of her death was because the poor mortal had want of more breath.

Zella was born on July 20, 1913 in Grantsville, Utah, to Freeman Nickerson and Annice Gifford. On July 11, 1932, she married Reuben Owen Crawford in Kanab, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple in May 1934. He passed away in September 1984.

Zella worked as a dance instructor for Arthur Murray. She was a member of the Ogden 29th Ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to read and enjoyed gardening and crafts. She enjoyed her grandchildren's visits to her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Zella is survived by two daughters and one son, Evelynne Baker of Ogden, Connie Jacobs of Clearfield, J.R. Crawford of Cedar City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Roxey Thayer of Grantsville, and Orlene Shields of Tooele, Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogden 29th Ward Chapel, 236 Porter Ave., Ogden, with Bishop Johnny Koehne officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday, March 5, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., and on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
