Zola Sypher Smith

NORTH OGDEN - Zola Sypher Smith, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed this life's test on September 30, 2002 at the Ogden Regional Hospital of causes incident to failing health.

Zola was born April 19, 1920 near Portage, Utah to Clinton and Oleah Sypher. She married Jacob Smith Jr. on October 4, 1940. They spent 62 years together living in North Ogden.

She lived her entire life in Ogden where she worked and raised her family. Zola loved roses and will always be remembered like the roses she loved. She loved the Gospel and shared her joy from it with all her family. She especially enjoyed serving in the Ogden Temple where she made many friends.

Zola retired from the grocery business after more than 40 years. She loved serving people and her family. Mom's greatest pride was her grandchildren. She often bought birthday presents months in advance. Mom was very talented, she was a world class cook and sewed many gorgeous afghans and doilies.

The family thanks the Ogden Regional staff and doctors Brent Clyde, Jeff Able, Dennis Sobotka and Chris Anderson for their great care.

Zola is survived by her husband, Jacob of No. Ogden; sons, Clinton Brent (Bev), Jerome, ID; Monty Jacob (Julee), No. Ogden; Michael Craig (Kathy), Ogden; and grandchildren.
